The brilliant idea was to follow the guns to the "Lord of Guns" in Mexico. No Mexico officials were notified of the gun smuggling sting. The genius of this plan was Eric Holder, from the U.S. Dept of Justice.
Was the purpose of Operation Fast and Furious to embarrass American gun owners to give up their rights because people were being killed in Mexico with American Guns? Oh... they brought out reams of paper with statistics, which were stack and racked with Government bureaucratic stupidity.
The argument went like this.... oh.. American guns are killing poor innocent Mexican because of the drug war. So..... we have to ban guns here in America because we are selling them to Mexican Drug Lords. Well... that bullshit didn't work.... give a liberal any real facts and they will hang themselves. They were hoping to get the "average Joe" involved with gun control, however, the average joes are too concerned with ball sports. (ie... baseball, basketball, football,) The usual political suspects, idiot senators from California or New York, created the most idiotic statements to incite the American people to action.

According to ATF records in 2012. Well... she is an Idiot... anti gun nut from San Francisco... land of Dirty Harry and Harvey Milk.
The ATF charts says...
14504 were seized in 2011,
10514 were manufacture in the U.S.
3990 were imported.
6733 were traced to u.s. retailers
7329 were not traceable
So of the 30,000 firearms seized in Mexico..
Only 6733 were traced to U.S. Retailer...
Only 23%... 30,000 handguns were traced to U.S. retailer...
not the 70% or 90%....that Idiot Senator Diane "math" Flunkenstien said.
STOP.... LET'S ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS FIRST!
1. Why does it matter where Mexico is getting their guns?
2. Does knowing where the guns come from stop the Mexican Drug Cartel violence?
